3 Ways to Add Adventure to Your Event this Summer

It’s well-known that unique and adventurous events equal bonding, team building and memorable experiences. So, as the days lengthen and warm and that golden light lingers later on the horizon, it’s the perfect time of year to try something a little different.

This November, Werribee Open Range Zoo launches Sunset Safari, a new after-hours experience perfect for work events and Christmas parties that highlights three ways to up the adventure factor for your next occasion.

1. Connecting with nature

The great outdoors instantly turns any event into a more meaningful experience. Nature brings a new perspective and a sense of adventure to otherwise corporate-feeling activities.

Add iconic African animals and the golden hues of sunset to that fresh outdoor air and you’re guaranteed a memorable experience.

An evening divided into three experiences, Werribee Open Range Zoo’s Sunset Safari offers visitors the chance to see rhinos, giraffes and zebras in a new light with an expertly guided tour of the savannah at dusk.

What’s more, the whole event is both carbon-neutral and zero waste to landfill, meaning you can feel green while in the great outdoors. Sunset Safari also helps fight extinction by supporting rhinos through Zoos Victoria’s international conservation partnership with Rhino Fund Uganda.

2. Exotic food

You don’t have to be a foodie to know good grub is crucial to the success of any event. It’s even better when the food is not just delicious but a talking point, relaxing the mood and giving relative strangers something to bond over.

The feast of African cuisine at Sunset Safari, served at the Zoo’s Meerkat bistro, is just that. As well as a drink on arrival at the event, guests are served dishes such as North African-inspired chicken tagine at an intimate dinner.

3. Immersive experiences

Watching a band is one thing. Doing karaoke is another. And which is more likely to give your event the kind of adventurous feel that keeps people talking for weeks to come?

While there are no microphones to screech into at Sunset Safari, the event offers the perfect chance to get involved in the entertainment.

African performers infuse the night with the drum beats and songs of their countries, encouraging guests to jump up and join in and making sure they go home with good vibes.
