5 Ways to take your meeting out of the boardroom

1. Experience the outdoors on segways

We all know how a good dose of fresh air can make a difference to your mood and production levels. The team at Segway Geelong has you covered next time your team is conferencing in the region.

Offering group Segway tours at the beautiful Leura Park Estate vineyard (15 minutes from central Geelong) and a spectacular waterfront adventure in Geelong CBD, this activity is the perfect way to get the team perked up after lunch.

Experts will have everyone up and skilled (no matter their level of fitness or coordination) in a few minutes, ready to head off on your fun filled outdoor adventure.

2. Jump around

There is nothing like a good competition and even though you may not have considered it before, a couple of hours at Geelong’s Supatramp will give you just that.

The new state of the art indoor activity centre is absolutely massive, filled with an extensive range of equipment and activities – with something for everyone. Their corporate packages are fun, interactive, competitive and most of all different from anything you have participated in before.

Get some air and have a slam dunk competition on their SupaSlam basketball arena. Duck, dive and dodge the balls with a game of Dodgeball. Clip up and climb up on the outrageously fun indoor climbing (there are 23 to choose from).

3. Take things down a level

If zooming around the waterfront on segway’s or bouncing around all afternoon is not really your thing, take it down a level and incorporate a wellness program into your schedule.

Revitalize Lifestyle facilitates Professional Development and Wellness programs that create Positive Change in the workplace. Revitalize Lifestyle sessions aim to exercise the mind, body and spirit. Tailored for individual businesses, programs are designed to fit requirements like time, budget and specific staff needs.

Facilitator Jo Surkitt says, the Wellbeing of your staff is vital for the success of your business, sounds like a win win situation to us.

4. Meet some of the local residents

Where else in Victoria can you experience an African wildlife adventure on over 200 hectares of beautiful natural surrounds? Werribee Open Range Zoo of course.

Have your delegates completely immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the savannah with an Off Road Safari and if that doesn’t wow them, head behind the scenes to meet the incredible lions and gorillas, or give the keepers a helping hand to feed the graceful giraffe!

Enough said!

5. Play around

Of golf that is. The Bellarine is home to three of the top 50 public access courses in Australia, so you’re spoiled for choice.

Tee off at one of the two courses at 13th beach golf links, or try your luck Barwon Heads Golf Club. Don’t have time for the entire afternoon out of the boardroom? Geelong Golf Club has a short 9 holes, perfect for a two hour afternoon break.

I know what you’re thinking, not everyone will want to play golf, let’s face it, it’s not the easiest game to get the hang of. Well, Curlewis Golf Course has the whole team sorted with an option to play Foot Golf, which is soccer style golf! The main difference between the two is that a player kicks a soccer ball (instead of hitting a golf ball) and the cups (holes) are a whopping 53-centimetres in diameter! The player who finishes the course with the fewest shots wins.

The best part is that no special equipment is required for FootGolf, just a soccer ball (which Curlewis loan to each participant, free of charge) and a pair of runners.

Now you’re all set to include something a little different to your conference schedule. Just let the BEGeelong team know if we can suggest any other “out of the boardroom” activities.
