3 courses, 3 venues, 3 hours: BEGeelong hosts progressive lunch

Forty key Melbourne buyers joined Business Events Geelong and industry members for a progressive lunch on the 17th of October 2018 to learn more about the region and the possibilities available for business events and conferences.

The top-secret event, held across three different venues in Melbourne’s CBD, kicked off at Garden State Hotel, where attendees enjoyed canapes and espresso martinis. They were then led by an accordion player – pied piper style – to The French Brassiere, where they indulged in a delicious main course paired with Scotchmans Hill wines.

Business Events Geelong Bureau Manager Mark Day said the annual luncheon provided the perfect setting for conference and meeting planners to network directly with some of Geelong’s finest operators, whilst enjoying some of the region’s premium wines.

“To have such a large amount of conference and meeting planners attend this exclusive event confirms why Geelong and The Bellarine is consistently front of mind for meeting planners as the premier region to hold a business event.”

“With easy access, stunning natural assets, incredible infrastructure and all the support needed to create inspiring events, Geelong and The Bellarine is the perfect destination for business events,” Day said.

Keeping in line with the French theme, a mime appeared at the end of the second course to lead the eager guests to the last location at Axil Coffee Roasters, where they had their individualised coffee order waiting for them, along with a sweet treat from Uncle Donut, a local Geelong gem.

Local industry members in attendance included Kerrie Benfield, Rydges Geelong; Ebony Kirk, Waurn Ponds Estate; Emily Robertson, The Pier Geelong; Karen Jackson, Novotel Geelong and Jacqueline Lancaster from the Geelong Football Club and Sam Richmond, Mt Duneed Estate.

Business Events Geelong is an award-winning convention bureau, providing free assistance to meeting and conference organisers to source venues, suppliers and locations for their next business event in Geelong and The Bellarine.
