5 Ways To Make The Most Of Our Destination This Summer

At last summer is here and don’t we love welcoming it back to our glorious region? To make sure you and your delegates get to experience this amazing time of year we have put together 5 ideas to make the most of our coastal destination.

1. Swim with the dolphins

Take a dip into Port Phillip Bay and swim with wild seals and dolphins. With a clever blend of fun adventure and education, the friendly crew at Sea All Dolphin Swims cater for passengers of all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities, with modern wet suits, equipment and light refreshments included.

2. Surfs up

Create a fun and active program by including surf lessons at Ocean Grove Beach with Go Ride a Wave. For those not interested in hitting the surf why not try stand up paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing which is available just around the corner at the Barwon Heads River with Paddle Life Barwon Heads.

3. Hit the high seas

If getting in the water isn’t for your team, why not change up your mode of transport? From Melbourne, board the Port Phillip Ferries at Docklands for a 90 minute sail to Portarlington. If you’re coming from the east, cruise into Queenscliff on Searoad Ferries, travelling from Sorrento on the hour every hour.

4. Admire from afar

Really don’t have sea legs? You can always admire the beauty of our coastal destination with two feet on solid ground. With breathtaking water views from Jack Rabbit Vineyard & Terindah Estate on The Bellarine, 360Q in Queenscliff or of Geelong waterfront from The Novotel, The Pier, The Carousel, Royal Geelong Yacht Club or Deakin University, your conference or function can still make the most of our delightful scenery.

5. For the thrill seekers

Cooling off has never been so exciting with the recent introduction of the terrifying $8m Tornado waterslide at Adventure Park.

Groups of up to four riders climb the 24 metre tower before hopping into a raft and blasting through a serpentine in-run, through 360 degree twists and turns, gaining serious speed before the raft suddenly drops, exploding into a seven and half storey funnel. On the ride, people will experience moments of zero gravity weightlessness and intense swings launching riders nearly vertical on the massive funnel walls.

The new waterslide precinct will see the ride’s splash pool exit surrounded by hundreds of new sun lounges, for those less interested in hard-core adventures.

Now you have the perfect excuse to head to our beautiful coastal destination this summer. See you at the beach!
