First Regional Longest Lunch Sailing the Bay

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s Regional Longest Lunch achieved two firsts this year – a longest lunch sailing the bay and the most travelled longest lunch – 44 kilometres to be exact!

One hundred people wined and dined on the wonderful regional produce on offer from both sides of Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay as they sailed between the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas.

Searoad Ferries served up an amazing menu starting with a tantalising selection of farm gate tasters, local lamb and snapper for main, finishing off with an interactive dessert, which had to be seen to be believed.  Guests relaxed and watched the spectacular scenery glide by as they listened to live music, met Head Chef, Brent Love, and spoke with winemakers from Yabby Lake Vineyard who provided matching wines to the menu.

Oh and we can’t forgot to mention the dolphin ice sculptures and the dessert Under the Bay theme… all that was missing was live dolphin spotting. Maybe next time.

Searoad Ferries’ Food and Beverage Team, RORO can cater any size event, large or small, either onboard sailing the bay or at the beach side café, RORO on the Beach in Queenscliff.  Offering a range of event styles, rooms and locations together with a creative approach, RORO is certainly aiming high if this event is just a sample of what they can do.
