Lions, Tigers and Mussels “Oh My”. A Premium Incentive experience like no other.

Geelong and The Bellarine not only offers a unique destination that is ready to be discovered but it also offers signature experiences which can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

Let’s dive into the exciting journey of our recent incentive group from Indonesia as they explored our region last week.

Day One:

Guests were transported to Werribee (a 20 minute drive from Melbourne CBD) and were thrilled to discover they were about to come face to face with the king of the jungle at the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Here the group lost themselves in an out of Africa experience. They boarded safari style bus and were whisked away on a 40-minute guided Safari Tour through the Savannah, spotting rhinos, giraffes, lions, zebra, ostrich, kangaroos, emu, koalas, mountain pygmy possums and more.

After a morning of animal spotting, it was now time to indulge at the neighbouring Werribee Refectory. Set both inside and outside the Historic Mansion @ Werribee Park, both the food and the setting were impeccable and could not be faulted.

After an exquisite lunch, the group headed back to Melbourne to get ready for their afternoon activities. However this was only the beginning of the Geelong adventure & we were busy preparing to welcome the guests back into the region the following day.

Day Two:

The days activities began at Docklands Melbourne, where the group boarded Port Phillip Ferries and began the journey across the sea to Portarlington. While cruising on the glistening waters of Port Philip Bay, guests indulged in an array of drinks and cheese boards, enjoyed the sights of the You Yangs, the Melbourne city skyline, while also being kept entertained by Yarra River commentary.

Arriving in the bay of Portarlington, Port Phillip Ferries dropped anchor and were met side by side with the Portarlington Mussel Tours vessel. Here guests were given front row seats to view a mussel fishing experience. They discovered the various stages of mussel farming, and watched in awe as the mussel ropes were pulled from the water. Guests were at this time given the opportunity to sample the local mussels. Following the tasting Port Phillip Ferries docked at Portarlington Pier, guests disembarked and were transported to Curlewis Golf Club ready to experience the Claribeaux Mussel Masterclass & lunch using fresh and local Portarlington Mussels.

As they arrived at Curlewis Golf Club the lawns were set for an afternoon of mussel preparation and most importantly tastings! Guests were taught how to perfectly cook mussels and after everyone had finished their tasting, guests were seated inside the french provincial inspired restaurant Claribeaux @ Curlewis. Over the course of the next three hours the group ate, drank, sang, laughed. It really was a day to remember.

At the end of the afternoon guests were transported back to their hotel accommodation.

It was a pleasure to work with Australia And Beyond Holidays and we look forward to collaborating with them on many more incentive experiences.
